Top Golf Club Brands and Why They Shine

1. Titleist: Precision for Professionals

Titleist Golf Club Brand

Titleist has long been a top contender in the golf world, prized for its premium-quality clubs and its dedication to the needs of skilled players.

Within the Titleist family sit their industry leading Vokey Wedge brand and their “Rolls Royce” putter brand Scottie Cameron.

“Vokeys” are used by a high number of professionals due to their exceptional consistency, the variety (many different loft, bounce and grind options) and their precision.

Scottie Cameron is Titleist’s collectable putter brand. Golfers can invest in a Scottie Cameron like they would a Rolex watch. They’re synonymous with precision, craftsmanship, style and performance and widely renowned as one of the biggest brands in world golf. Their most famous customer over the years is Tiger Woods. Tiger used one of their Newport 2 putters to win 14 of his 15 major championships.

Aside from their clubs, Titleist have in their equipment arsenal, one of the most popular golf balls ever made, The Pro V1.

Their Professional locker for clubs includes Justin Thomas, Ludvig Åberg, Robert Macintyre and Wyndham Clark and for the Pro V range of golf balls, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay and Tony Finau.

  • What Sets Them Apart: Titleist’s clubs are engineered for precision and reliability, often favoured by elite players who demand consistency in their performance. They sit at the higher end of the market due to their very high quality and are known to manufacture some of the best irons on the market.
  • Popular Models: The classic TSR driver series offers unmatched aerodynamics and adjustability. The TSR range has now been superseded by their latest technology in the GT range. Titleist’s T-Series irons provide exceptional feel and control and there’s a range to suit all standards of golfer. Vokey wedges have their SM range, I own SM8’s, but they’re now up to SM10 as their latest release. 3. Callaway: Forgiveness and Power Combined

Callaway Golf Brand

Callaway has consistently delivered game-changing designs that prioritise both performance and ease of use. Their technology often appeals to a broad audience, from beginners to tour players. More recently, the brand has seen a strong resurgence with many amateur players. With their affordable prices, Callaway have become a go-to for new golfers looking to buy their first complete set of clubs.

For me, none of their clubs are the “best golf clubs” in any given category but they are a top brand and have some very good clubs at more reasonable prices than some of the other major golf brands.

I said that Callaway don’t have the very best clubs in their locker but when it comes to putters, their Odyssey brand (purchased in 1997) is very different. I used their world famous 2-ball putter for over 20 years until the face of my putter recently disintegrated. The 2-ball was a revolution in putting and turned Odyssey into one of the biggest names in the putters department.

In terms of professionals, Callaway have Xander Schauffele, Min Woo Lee and Sam Burns within their “Team”.
