Brief synopsis: Just Don’t Give Up is a children’s book written in 2021 by Mia Baker. The book follows the two protagonists, best friends Eddie and Lola. Lola discovers a white ball while out on a walk, and with Eddie, they start their golfing adventure. The short story re-iterates the importance of never giving up.

Just Don’t Give Up – Detailed Book Review

Just Don’t Give Up! is an entertaining read, written to inspire children to play golf and never give up. Delightfully illustrated by Alexandra Columbo, the colourful story follows the two main characters, Lola and Eddie, as they, with help from Lola’s Mum, chip balls into a bucket in the garden and learn to use a sand wedge.

While Just Don’t Give Up! is about Lola and Eddie’s golfing journey, the concept for the story clearly came from the author’s experiences. Mia has never given up when faced with challenges on her golf journey, which is how she has managed to see such an explosive growth within a particularly challenging niche.

I bought a copy of Just Don’t Give Up! recently for my 4 month-old Grandson. Yes, I know, he is far too young for this book at the moment, but there’s a distinct lack of children’s golf books. Look how happy he was to receive it!

Mia Baker is a Presenter, YouTuber, Children’s Author, and Podcast host who has risen to fame at the speed of sound since first taking up golf. Mia’s background is fairly unusual compared to most others in the golf industry. With a degree in Mathematics, her initial career was in Product Management & Digital Technology, and it wasn’t until late 2019 when Mia’s golfing journey began.

In summary, Mia reached out to the CEO of American Golf to discuss the lack of women’s clothing and equipment in their stores … and the rest is history. Mia now has her own Podcast, presents segments on Sky Sports, has over 130,000 followers on Instagram, and is one of the main faces of Adidas Golf to name but a few of her highlights.
