Who is Laura Davies?
Dame Laura Davies is the most successful golfer ever in the history of the Ladies European Tour. Davies has won 45 LET events, the second highest number of victories is Dale Reid who has 21 to her name. She was the first player, male or female, to win on five different tours in one single calendar year.
A former World Number 1 Davies has played in an all-time record 12 Solheim Cups amassing 25 points for her European Team. Davies has played 46 matches between 1990 and 2011, winning 22 and halving 6.
The records don’t stop there. Davies has also won the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit a record 7 times during her glittering career.
Davies was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1988, Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2000, and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2014 Birthday Honours. All awards were for her services to golf.
