CIGMAN CT-1000 Golf Laser Rangefinder with Slope – Review
CIGMAN CT-1000 Laser Rangefinder – Price when reviewed: £73 / $67 (Check LATEST Amazon Price in your region)
The CIGMAN Golf CT-1000 Rangefinder is an outstanding tool for any golfer looking to improve their game with precision and convenience. This rangefinder is the latest release (previous version the CIGMAN CT-800) from CIGMAN and it stands out in the crowded market due to its ease of use and affordability.
I’ve put my old PeakPulse rangefinder to one side and tested the CT-1000 on the golf course over the last four weeks to try to give the most comprehensive review. The results as you’ll see were very interesting.

First Thoughts
Straight out of the box when picking up the CIGMAN CT-1000 the first thing I noticed is that it feels robust and durable. It’s much heavier than my Peakpulse (206g Vs 180g). While this could be seen as a negative, I actually think it’s a positive. The extra weight helps with stability. There’s a large textured rubber pad at the bottom which helps reduce slipping when gripping the rangefinder. It is a compact size and sturdy build.
On top of the feel, this rangefinder looks the business! It looks similar in design to the more premium rangefinders from Bushnell. The silver and grey finish gives the CIGMAN rangefinder a classy & professional look.
It is important to put everything into context. For me, this rangefinder falls into the “budget rangefinder” category but only due to the low price, not the quality. Read on to see how you can buy this great value rangefinder for as little as £73.49 / $60.87.

CIGMAN CT-1000 Magnification
One of the first things you’ll notice about the CIGMAN Golf CT-1000 is its vibrant lens and magnification capability. The crystal clear LCD display offers 7x magnification, providing a clear and detailed view of the course. This level of magnification ensures that you can easily spot your target, whether it’s the flagpole or a distant hazard, and make precise measurements every time.
CIGMAN Golf Rangefinder Slope Compensation Mode
A standout feature of the CT-1000 is the golf slope compensation mode. This mode automatically adjusts the distance readings to account for the incline or decline of the terrain. This is particularly useful on hilly courses, where gauging the true distance can be challenging due to the elevation changes. With this feature, you can trust that the rangefinder is giving you the most accurate distance possible, allowing you to choose the right club and make a more informed shot.
It’s worth noting that Slope Compensation on golf laser rangefinders is deemed illegal in tournament play because it provides an additional level of information that can give players an unfair advantage. By calculating the incline or decline of the terrain, these devices offer more precise distance measurements, which can significantly influence club selection and shot strategy. This capability effectively reduces the skill required to judge the course manually, potentially undermining the spirit of competition and the integrity of the game.
The governing bodies of golf, such as the USGA and R&A, maintain rules to ensure that all players rely on their skill and judgment, preserving the traditional challenge and fairness of the sport. There is a clear on/off slope switch on the side of the CT-1000 rangefinder that is visible to your playing partners.
It is still a very handy feature for practice sessions and when getting used to a golf course in non-competitive play.

3 Year Warranty
CIGMAN care about their customers and offer a industry-leading 36-month after-sale service on this product and lifetime of technical support. Most rangefinders only come with a 1 or 2 year warranty.
Rechargeable CIGMAN Rangefinder
The rangefinder is rechargeable via a USB-C cable, which is included in the package. This is a significant advantage over models that require disposable batteries, offering both cost savings and environmental benefits. A single charge provides ample power for multiple rounds of golf, ensuring that the device is ready whenever you are. It has a 3.7V/750mAh Li-ion battery. The quick charging port is situated below the viewing lens.
The CT-1000 rechargeable Li-ion battery has a long battery life. Up to 20,000 precise measurements can be taken from a full charge.
Fast Reading Rangefinder
One of the most appreciated aspects of the CIGMAN Golf CT-1000 is its fast reading capability. It’s noticably quicker than my PeakPulse Rangefinder!
The golf range finder delivers quick and accurate distance measurements in much less than a second, which helps maintain the pace of play. You won’t be held up waiting for the device to calculate distances, allowing you to focus more on your game. CIGMAN states 0.05s for a measurement or 0.46 seconds for flagpole lock.
Flagpole Mode
The flagpole mode is another impressive feature. It uses advanced Pin-Seeker technology to quickly and accurately identify the flagstick, even if there are other objects in the background such as wooded areas. This mode ensures that you get a precise reading on the flag without any guesswork, which is crucial for improving your approach shots and lowering your scores.
There’s also an adjustable diopter that allows you to clearly focus on your target.
Portable Rangefinder
For added convenience, the CT-1000 includes a magnetic mount. This allows golfers to easily attach the rangefinder to a golf cart or any metal surface, keeping it within reach at all times. The magnetic mount is strong and reliable, ensuring that the rangefinder stays securely in place throughout your round.
Portability is further enhanced by the rangefinder’s design, which allows it to fit comfortably in a golf bag. It’s lightweight and compact, making it easy to carry without adding unnecessary bulk. The free lanyard and carabiner also give further options depending on how a golfer wishes to carry their rangefinder.
How do you use the CIGMAN CT-1000 Golf Laser Rangefinder?
You can use this straight out of the box, so no setup is required. The rangefinder is really easy to use: simply look through the sight, aim at your target (twist the focus wheel if you need to sharpen the image), and then hit button A to initiate the laser technology! Hey presto, you’ll feel the jolt technology vibrate to confirm that you’re locked on, and distance measurement will be displayed.
Use button B (mode button) to scroll between the different functions and the Slope Lock Switch to turn the slope feature on/off.
Who are CIGMAN?
CIGMAN aren’t that well known in the golf industry … yet! For many years they have been active in the construction industry. They have a fantastic name for creating accurate measuring devices. If the CT-1000 is anything to go by then it won’t be long before they’re disrupting the golf industry. This BUDGET rangefinder is only budget in price!

How do I adjust the indicator brightness? It only goes to 4 and on a bright day, the indicator s are hard or impossible to see,
Hi James, I don’t have the rangefinder with me today but let me check when I get back and I’ll come back to you.
It isn’t a problem I’ve had to be honest but Manchester isn’t renowned for bright weather!
Where are you using yours?
Hi James, which model do you have? The CT-1000 doesn’t have any adjustment to the indicators. As I mentioned in the last comment mine seems very bright and hasn’t caused any issues. Where abouts are you based?
